Buyer Policy
Last Updated: May 1, 2025
This Buyer Policy is supplemental to Resyn's Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Buyer Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.
1. What is Resyn?
Resyn is an online social marketplace that connects Buyers and Sellers. As outlined in our Terms of Service, Resyn does not process payments between users, verify items, inspect merchandise, or become involved in transactions. All payment arrangements are made directly between Buyers and Sellers.
2. Dual Roles: Acting as Both Buyer and Seller
Users may act as both Buyers and Sellers on our platform, particularly in communities centered around specialized items where trading is common. When you are purchasing items on the Service, this Buyer Policy applies to your activities. When you are selling or listing items, please refer to our Seller Policy, as different guidelines and responsibilities apply to Seller activities.
If you engage in trade transactions (exchanging items rather than purchasing them), both this Buyer Policy and our Seller Policy will apply to your activities in the respective roles of the transaction.
3. Best Practices for Browsing and Purchasing
- Research Before Committing. Review listings, including all images and descriptions, before committing to a purchase.
- Ask Questions. Use our messaging system to ask Sellers any questions about items before agreeing to purchase.
- Review Seller Profiles. Check Seller ratings and review history when available.
- Keep Communication on Platform. For your safety and to maintain a record of your interactions, keep all communication with Sellers on the Resyn platform.
4. Safe Transactions
4.1 Payment Safety:
- Consider using payment methods that offer buyer protection
- Never send cash through mail
- Be wary of wire transfers or non-reversible payment methods with unfamiliar Sellers
- Consider using an escrow service for high-value purchases
4.2 Meeting Sellers In-Person:
- Meet in public, well-lit places such as coffee shops or shopping centers
- Consider bringing a friend when meeting a Seller
- Inspect items thoroughly before payment
- Trust your instincts -- if something feels wrong, walk away
4.3 Receiving Items:
- Inspect items promptly upon receipt
- Compare the received item against the listing description and photos
- Document any issues with photos if there are discrepancies
5. Prohibited Activities as a Buyer
In addition to the prohibited activities in our Terms of Service, as a Buyer you must not:
Make False Claims. Falsely claim an item was not received or misrepresent its condition upon receipt.
Abuse the Messaging System. Send spam, harassing messages, or use our messaging system for purposes unrelated to transactions.
Engage in Fraud. Use stolen payment methods, engage in chargeback fraud, or otherwise attempt to defraud Sellers.
Attempt to Circumvent Platform. Attempt to bypass the platform to avoid fees or policies.
Purchase Prohibited Items. Attempt to purchase items that violate our prohibited items policy.
